Pinch
Last Updated: July 2026
Pinch is operated from the European Union, and your data is stored in the EU. We collect only what we need to run the Service, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not show ads.
Account:your authentication identity (Apple, Google, or an email & password if you sign up with email), your email address, a username, and an optional display name. Your content: the recipes, ingredients, meal plans, shopping lists, and photos you create or upload. Subscription status: if you buy Premium, we store your subscription tier and status to unlock features — we never receive or store your payment card details. We do not collect precise location, contact lists, or health data, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers.
When you scan a recipe photo, generate an AI shopping list, or use “smart paste” to structure a pasted ingredient list, the relevant image or text is securely sent to Mistral AI (processed in the EU) to produce the result. We do not permanently store the images you send for scanning; this content is processed only to fulfil your request.
Premium subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google — we never receive or store your card details. We use RevenueCat to keep your subscription status in sync across devices; it receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and your purchase information. You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings.
Your recipes are private by default. You choose each recipe’s visibility: Shared (friends you grant access to), Public (discoverable by anyone on Pinch), or via Family Sharing. If you turn on “discoverable,” other users can find your profile by username, and they can “pinch”(save their own copy of) recipes you make public or share. Please share only what you’re comfortable making visible.
Your data is stored securely in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). We use TLS/SSL encryption in transit and Row Level Security (RLS) so you can only access your own data or recipes shared with you.
You can view and edit your data anytime, export your recipes, and delete your account (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account and its data, including recipes and photos. As an EU-based service we support the rights afforded under the GDPR — access, correction, deletion, and portability. To exercise any of these, email info@pinch.recipes.
Pinch is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
By submitting a recipe, you acknowledge that we have no ability to verifywhether it is your original creation or comes from a third party. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any recipe you upload. By uploading or sharing recipes, you grant us the rights to process, store, display, and share them as necessary to operate and improve the Service.
Sharing recipes is at your own risk. Community recipes are provided as-is, without any warranty of accuracy, safety, or suitability. We do not verify recipes for allergens or food safety and are not liable for any adverse outcomes.
You may not upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, promotes violence or hate speech, or infringes intellectual property. Users may report violating recipes; we reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts of repeat offenders.
By subscribing to our premium features on iOS, you also agree to the standard Apple Terms of Use (EULA).
